mmmm bamboo needles, ’nuff said

My April bead selection pieces won the challenge prize! I’m so happy, as it is judged by my favourite beader and her team. Happy, happy Deborah
Here’s a reminder of what I won with. lots of new bigger delica beads, including 24K gold beads and some lovely swarovski flowers. I called the set ‘Gilding the Lily’ after my beautiful god-daughter.

…or our garden to the uninitiated. One of my many sister-in-laws (Carol) is “doing” our back garden for us. When she started to dig out all the weeds and long grass it was hot and sunny. She wished for some rain to soak the ground so the digging was easier. Be careful what you wish for I say, it hasn’t stopped bucketing down since. So instead of being able to rake over and level the garden in time for the membrane layer we have a sea of mud, knickers! The plan is for a Japanese type garden with gravel and lots of bamboo and cherry blossom – know any one who likes cherries cos we don’t!

After much frogging (I messed up the bead placement and didn’t notice til *way* too late) and cursing, I am back to where I had got to, hurrah! Yon still doesn’t see the point of knitting socks when you can buy them cheaper and faster. (Rolls eyes) Can you see the beads – subtle frosted finish on them. Yumm.

Tigger decided to sleep in a strange place today. She really is going bats. Her favourite places to sleep seem to be in boxes or carrier bags recently. I spent quite a bit on a nice cat bed for her too!
